Neon Gods
by Katee Robert
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
Character
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
No
Diverse cast of characters:
No
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
there is basically plot, absolutely no character development and a romance that feels a bit like a kid smushing it’s dolls together and declaring their in love.
does it make it a bad book? no
is it a book i would recommend to people? no not really.
of it was a thriller the new term a lot of people use foe entertaining but ultimately not memorable books are popcorn reads, which i think fits here too.
it’s entertaining enough.
there is a lot of illogical stuff and basically no plot and a new defining version of insta-love with a large amount of sex that doesn’t really feel really fitting or make this entire story more realistic.
but let’s be honest a book like this doesn’t get picked up as your next read because your looking for the most logical or realistic read!
i picked it up because i wanted something quick, entertaining and something i could just not think while reading.
which this fit pretty well.
did i still notice an almost alarming among of plot holes that could have been easily avoided? sure.
did i find the whole public sex stuff unnecessary? you-betcha!
i was still entertained and able to tune out my own personal stuff for a little while. so it did what i needed it to do.
will it be a favorite book or series for me? NO!
but again depends kn what you are looking for and enjoy.
i like a bit more actual logic and plot and real character development in my romance and a lot less public sex.
doesn’t make this a bad book just because it didn’t fit my personal reading preferences.
and i did enjoy the sisters and their relationship in this book.
so there was something.
what confused the heck out of me was where the is book was supposed to be set?
i went into this just thinking fantastic somewhere not real world who cares?
but than the author keeps mentioning things in the USA as if they are on the same continent.
so apparently olympia is now in the USA? or at least this fictional city is? why? no clue!
never explained never mentioned or talked about.
why would a bunch of greek gods like people in power take the names and similar positions of power as greek gods in the USA and it’s just be accepted? hey dont ask me!
but maybe that’s even one of the more believable things about this book now that i think about it.
an old guy using violence and hate against women to stay in power! seems to fit the USA pretty well.
all in all?
it’s an erotica.
so you get what’s expected just with greek mythological names thrown in.
decide for yourself if that’s something you enjoy and want to read.
