I have now read every book in this series and I have to say that I am blown away by the creativity and beauty of these books. They are amazingly well written and the characters are so vivid and complex as to bring one to tears. This book was harder to read not because it was bad but because I knew once I finished this book I would have no new stories in this world, no new adventures with these gods and mortals I had grown so very fond of. Yet this is not a hopeless series. The opposite, in fact. I have long held to the belief that characters drive stories and this series will now become my case and point. I look forward to more of Jemisin's work.
