I picked this up to read because I love what I've read of the series so far, this being the fourth I've read since I'm not reading them in order. As such I knew going in this would be a light and easy read. I've read this one the first week after my sons birth, when I needed something not too hard to follow, so the fact it's a collection of short stories was a bit of a blessing in disguise. However as a collection of short stories it's not the most amazing. They're all quite fun but quite similar. The different twists are entertaining but I'm confident in saying the Scarlet Pimpernel stories work best as full novels. So this was the weakest of the series I've read so far but still fun and I imagine will help make the recurring  characters more rounded in the future books
