Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction
by J.D. Salinger
Raise High the Roof Beams was funny and heart warming while being followed by a piece more touching and nostalgic. To hear from our narrator on two separate occasions talking about the love he has/had for his brother while also hinting at other familial bonds was touching to say the least.
As my first Salinger book, I was happily surprised by the warmth of the writing and will hopefully be looking into reading more from him in the future.
