Bear With Me Now by Katie Shepard
3.0

When you are rescued by a beautiful woman from a bear ready to tear you apart, you tend to fall for her a bit. Teagan can Zijil is at a resort, after being hospitalized for panic attacks two years after his mother’s death and being the executive of a chritable foundation that just keeps losing money... he is stressed and nervous and not really taking care of himself. His sister drags him to the wilderness therapy retreat in Montana in hopes that it’ll help both of them. But then Teagan gets lost in the woods and is nearly eaten by a bear when he is suddenly rescued by an angel, or rather by the program’s handywoman, Darcy Albano. Darcy is very capable and dreams about doing something more, she’s been in the Navy and has worked the wilderness retreat, she wants to do more except things just have not been going her way, from her ex stealing her car to her parents ruining her credit score. Yet after saving Teagan he hires her to be his sober companion... except for the fact that he isn’t an alcoholic and he hasn’t told her. This is the perfect chance for Darcy to not only work on what she wants to do in the future but also to find possible love with the gorgeous guy she rescued. But Darcy isn’t a city girl and Teagan has so many secrets. Can these two make it work? This was definitely an interesting story and definitely had me curious how it was going to end. While I did enjoy Darcy and Teagan falling for one another I did have a couple issues with the fact that they had a relationship despite Darcy being his literal sober companion and not getting that there have to be clear professional lines???? Also the way mental health was portrayed in this one was.... iffy. Like I love that there was some portrayal and that it really stresses on the importance of working on yourself and that there will be people who will support you and love you throughout your process, but at the same time, it could have been done better. Overall, it was a pretty cute story about two people who survive a bear attack and find themselves falling for each other and in a very strange relationship.
