Parts of this broke my heart, especially the depiction of two people living on the fringes of society, forgotten and uncared for by everyone around them. It hits hard given the cost of living crisis in the UK at the moment - lots more people will be living like this. But other parts lost their steam which isn’t ideal since it’s only 288 pages. 

Although I did read Jeanie as asexual which was cool! Something that could have been explored more or even named outright.
