This was my first foray into historical romance and while the story itself was nothing groundbreaking, it was still an enjoyable book to read around Valentine's Day. I am a firm believer that romance novels often get a bad reputation because of overly sexualized covers. This book may appear sexy from the outside, but there was only one sex scene in the whole book. What you're not told from the cover is that it is more so a story of overcoming the pain of the past and finding a fulfilling future filled with love and personal growth.
