Rudy knows exactly what he’s doing. His poetic language and metaphors are truly top tier. His poems tackle subjects like race, gender, masculinity, and anxiety. So many killer lines and stanzas. He also has a few shorter poems in this collection that put “instapoets” to shame. He knows how to do them right. This is the first book I’ve read that I felt totally comfortable highlighting in because I knew I’d want to go back to those parts. Definitely going to have to get his second book. I'm so glad I read this book.
