I really like the premise of this book, but the execution didn’t work well for me. The prose was way too dense, which was distracting. I like to think I have a pretty good vocabulary but the sheer number of words I didn’t know in a novella of just over a hundred pages was surprising.

I also didn’t really care for any of the characters. I felt no connection to them so I didn’t really care what happened to any of them. I feel like if this had been a longer book and we had been able to spend more time with the characters, that might have helped. But I was mostly indifferent to all of them.
