Thick: And Other Essays

I had heard about this book when it first came out and marked to read. I saw it at a book store and immediately purchased since I couldn’t find on my kindle and I’m so glad I did.
This book was definitely about black women and the lens, but in a way I didn’t expect. It was very fact based and the notes and references were gold. I feel it’s absolutely necessary in today’s world to step in the shoes of people who don’t look or think like us, ESPECIALLY black women. So insightful and articulated in a way that made me think but didn’t fee condescending. Well done. I think it’s a necessary read for anyone, but especially white people.
