Crown of Feathers
by Nicki Pau Preto
This felt a little slow to start but I'm unsure if that was my mood or not.
The story is told from multiple perspectives, which can sometimes frustrate me a little bit. One persons perspective made their chapters a little dull for me, and I struggled at times to push through those to get to back to the characters I cared about.
But I adore the world and the history, I love the idea of riding giant phoenix's rather than the usual mythological beings. The twist at the end I had figured out about a quarter of the way through the book, but that didn't put a dampner on it.
I am looking forward to where the next book takes us.
