Rogue Protocol
by Martha Wells
out of the three books/novellas this was my least favorite.
it felt a bit like it just repeated what already happened in the first two books in a slightly different way - once again a group tries to kill the humans around murderbot and once again it has to figure out how it can save everyone while fighting a lot of bad guys.
maybe i read them all too close together so that the way they are written appear way to similar?
not sure.
i still love murderbot and i love that even though it tries to tell itself that it doesn’t care at all, seconds after it’s undeniable that it does care a lot about the others around it.
it’s still well written and well done but i wish it wouldn’t have felt a bit like a repeat of book one with small sections of book two.
i think this series is best consumed a bit spread out, so that the clear similarities in each of those books don’t get noticed as much.
all in all still a fun read, just my least favorite of them all so far.
