Queer Ducks (and Other Animals): The Natural World of Animal Sexuality
by Eliot Schrefer
funny
informative
fast-paced
This was a re-listen for book club tomorrow, and I honestly think I got even more out of it the second time. There's so much great information included in this, told in a way that's easily accessible. Schrefer also breaks down how scientific research reflects the status quo, and I just find it all so fascinating.

Oh, what an important book this is! Eliot Schrefer gives reasons for writing it at the beginning, and the majority of it is because the LGBTQ+ community is seen as "unnatural." But there are so many instances of queerness in the natural world, and a lot of them are in this book! Not only were the animal facts fascinating, but there was also a lot of information about scientific research and how it's also biased. I found it all fascinating.
I listened to the audiobook, but I know the physical book has some great illustrations and such, too! Schrefer adds humor throughout, and just makes it an entertaining book to read. If you like nonfiction, I highly recommend it!
