Blade of Secrets
by Tricia Levenseller
Celebrating that the sequel of this beauty is being released TODAY!
Summary: Ziva is one of the only people left with magic, which she uses alongside her forging talents to create powerful weapons. When she is hired to make a sword for a warlord, she crafts a weapon that is more powerful than anything she's made before. She learns that the warlord intends to use the sword to enslave the world, so Ziva and her sister must flee.
Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The most special part of this book was Ziva's character. If you've ever struggled with anxiety, you will empathize with Ziva. As she faces external battles throughout her journey, she also has to battle internal social anxiety at every step.
It was so unique to read a fantasy book in which the main character faced this struggle. The reason why it was so well done is because the author has dealt with social anxiety for her entire life. I love how this inclusion only made Ziva stronger and braver.
Other things I enjoyed:
✴️ Ziva's relationship with her sister Temra. They were such good supports for one another, it was so refreshing.
✴️ The side characters!! I was impressed by how they each had their own unique personalities, backgrounds, and goals
✴️ The magic - the way Ziva infused the weapons with abilities was super creative and I can't wait to see more of that in book 2
