This is such a weird and random yet interesting story. I wasn't even sure if I was enjoying it until I finished it and had watery eyes. It's not a heart pumping action WWII fiction but...more if a historical fiction that evaluates life as a civilian during the Hitler-Stalin power struggle on the Eastern front. It's definitely one I'll re-read every once and a while. Beautifully written. 4.5 out of 5 stars
