Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder
by Caroline Fraser
I love the Little House books, and this biography started out with a bang, explaining the Minnesota Massacre and other events that shaped Laura Ingalls Wilder’s perspective and give context to her family’s place in history. It bogged down a bit for me later and I had to push through but I’m glad I did. It was interesting to read about how she became a writer, and the choices she made when deciding how to represent her family (especially her dad). Also, MAN that Rose was a piece of work.
