Ruined King by C.N. Crawford was not as good of a follow-up as I wanted it to be. Overall, the book fell flat, with a large portion of the conflict being about a miscommunication being Ali and Galin. Their relationship in this book did not progress very much. I don't feel motivated to read the next book in the series as I did after finishing The Cursed Prince. While I did enjoy the winnowing between the three tribes, that was probably the most exciting part of the book. Seeing more the relationship between Galin and his family was interesting; however, it ended rather quickly. Overall, I would give this book 3 stars and plan on reading the next book in the series.
