acedimski 's review for:
The Fault in Our Stars
by John Green
How can a book be so painful, but so good?!?!
But then, that's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt.
Spoilers(!):
After "Looking For Alaska", which's also a tragic story, still with a peaceful and wonderful end, I couldn't imagine that there's gonna be a better end, an end which makes everything okay that happened in the book before. However, Augustus' Letter to Van Houten, his eulogy to Hazel, was exactly what I needed. What Hazel needed.
I cried a lot while I was reading this.
I knew Augustus was gonna die, people told me spoilers, but I had no idea how and I need to say, that John Green knows to be cruel by taking away such an amazing person as Augustus (or even Alaska, in LFA), but they way he deals with Augustus' death (or Alaska's in LFA) makes everything seem okay, as if another ending was screwing up everything.
Now ... I'll go cry a bit. Eat some ice cream. Or drink some tea. TRY to make some homework and studying.
Well, At least they were happy for their very own little infinity. Okay.
(I'm german, so sorry for some mistakes, read the book in english, though)
