The Ex Hex
by Erin Sterling
Maybe it’s partly because it’s a second chance romance, but I think the author failed to properly build/present the relationship/chemistry. Yes, they had some cute back and forth, but that’s it.
The magical plot-line was pretty interesting, and it’s mostly what kept me reading. But even though they talked about the (magical) conflict like a life or death situation, it didn’t actually feel that way. It was solved too quickly and easily without causing much harm. So the stakes didn’t actually seem that high at all. And I get it, it’s a romance with magical elements not the other way around, but when the romance is not giving…
Overall though, it was a decent, light hearted read to pass the time.
