I'm somewhat suprised, but I actually really liked this. I cared about all of the main characters and the writing was engaging and creative. It helped that it had very short chapters that made it feel like the story moved very fast.

I will say, it was pretty dark at times and the villains were truly horrendous. I don't know that I would say this book is for children. But then again, so were the Harry Potter books at times.

Pleasantly surprised.
