I wanted to like this book so much more but it really just fell flat for me. I adore fairytale retellings and the description sounded so good but I honestly forced my way through this.

Things I didn’t like:
1. I listened to the audiobook and I really did not like the narrator at all.
2. It was way too long. There were so many unnecessary details that the story just felt so drawn out and I really just wanted it to get to the point.
3. The resolution was a little too clean and didn’t seem realistic. Obviously it’s about a fairytale so it’s not going to be super realistic but I just think the detectives would have questioned Wendy so much more.

Things I did like:
1. I thought the direction it went in was really interesting! Very very sad but I’ve heard this theory around Peter Pan before so I thought it was interesting to read a book that went with it.
2. The woods being dangerous is a storyline I love in fantasy novels so I enjoyed that!

My main question that the book left me with is how did Wendy’s mom know Peter? Like with the ultimate reveal surrounding Peter, it doesn’t make sense to me how she would have met him as a kid...?
