Her fiance is a sociopath and mother is a piece of work. I really liked how the book brought up Danica's addiction to her corsets and that she uses them to control and punish herself. I've never had disorders or anything but my friends who have explained it quite similarly.

Everyone I know that's has or is involved with substances (consumption and/or selling) has done it for pretty similar reasons of wanting to get out of a bad and unhealthy relationships...however, something more complicated ends up changing the get in-->get cash-->get out original plan.
