I picked this book up last year because the cover looked fun. Yes I procrastinated a while until I realized I could listen to the audiobook at the same time. After my hold came in I dove in and I enjoyed it. I loved the audio for the Scottish accent “chef’s kiss”. I also love a good grumpy sunshine and this did not disappoint.

I did find some of the miscommunication aspects to be annoying but overall this was a sweet small town romance based in Scotland. Also the MMC wears a kilt at one point and what isn’t to love about that. I also loved that they both had dogs that wanted to be around each other all the time they loved each other. There are also meddling family members who will be getting their own books. I can not wait for Callum’s book.

I enjoyed this book so I gave it 4.25 ⭐️ and 1.5 🌶️ that scene on the barrels where they got caught was 🥵. Also the audiobook for this was perfect. The Scottish grump was spot on and loved every minute.

I highly recommend this book if you like a grumpy sunshine trope. Also if you're fond of a Scottish MMC this is for you but I recommend the audio to experience it.

Happy reading everyone 📚
