Look Hamlet is a fascinating adaptation of Shakespeare's classic play. The choice to adapt such a deadly work into an all-ages picture book seems out there, but the combination of Barbro Lindgren's sparse and witty prose and Anna Höglund's perfectly macabre illustrations made for a delightful read.

I did miss elements of the play that didn't make it into the 30-page picture book. I would've loved to see Horatio and Lindgren's versions of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. But despite its brevity, I fully enjoyed this dark, weird little volume.
