The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
4.0

This was a very classic teenage insta-love story. Because I went into this knowing that, it prevented this from being a 3 or 3.5-star book. I was actually surprised by the ending (excluding the epilogue.) I think (as with any classic contemporary romance) that a lot of people went in expecting the big issue to be resolved and everything. Which would have been too much. While I enjoyed the characters and knew that this took place over a day it was still a bit lovey and cheesy. Like a little over the top and way too fast. The characters did comment on this. How they were trying to put a whole forever of a relationship in just this one day. Which was appreciated.
In addition, it kept switching points of view away from the two main characters.
There would be definitions and points of view from the parents and siblings and everything. While I enjoyed their stories, it was sometimes hard to keep track...especially at the beginning.
This is why it is a 4-star book. I enjoyed it, the characters and the battle of poetry versus science, and the fight to avoid attraction because it is mistaken for love.
