A terribly sad and endearing story of WWII and concentration camps throughout Eastern Europe. This was the first WWII based book that made my stomach sink due to content but that is not a negative review! If anything, this was the first book that truly showed the devastating effects of the concentration camps.

The switching between points of views and each chapter ending in a cliff hanger made me want to just keep reading. I adored this book and can’t wait to read the second book in the series.
