I am here to say that boys do knit. And as it was recently pointed out to me, it started as a male dominated profession. Ben Fletcher got himself into a little bit of trouble and now must do his time. Lucky for him, doing his time means doing 100 hours of community service, keeping a journal, and taking a class. His class selection is very small. There is intro to computers, but come on, if your under the age of 30, odds are you do not need into to computers. There’s auto mechanics, but that means his father would be his teacher. Uh, no. That leave pottery and knitting. Knitting, while considered a joke by his father and friend, is taught by his sexy teacher. So while Ben convinces everyone he is taking pottery, he is actually becoming a knitting expert.

I love this story. It’s not just a knitting story. It’s a story about relationships, on all levels. It’s about what it means to be a man. What it means to be a good member of society. This book is full of heart, will make you laugh, and even rip off 50 Shades of Gray, while remaining completely clean. To top it off, I just found out that there is a sequel. I guess I will have to see what new trouble in which Ben can involve himself.
