“One other tradition is to take a long look at one you hold dear before entering the darkness. You can hold their image in your mind's eye to light your way.”
That sounded potentially awkward. As Brand and Addam turned to face me, I stepped aside and looked at all of them. From a well-behaved Ciaran; to the Tower; to the man I intended to choose as a consort one day; and the man who'd always been the best part of my soul.
How am I supposed to go on with my life now??? The amount of suspense!! All the things that are still to unfold??? Now that we've learned much of what Rune knows yet still so much that he Doesn't Know???? And how desperately, fervently, I want Addam to get with Brand to, or whatever???
I probably have rot for brains because now whenever I read something with virtually no spice levels, my brain immediately cooks it up. Not in a thirsty way, but like, the way that emotional connections can be elevated when you take them through certain aspects. Ugh. But this IS so damn near close to absolute perfection as far as fantasies go with me.
Solid world-building, characters that just about jump out of the page!! I keep wanting to stop thirsting after Brand, it's distracting, ugh.
What a good series. I seriously hope I can get a next installment soon, crazy to think we are literally only 1/3 into the story.
