Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams

You guys.... This series just keeps getting better and better with each book, even when the previous one was already great! This time we have Vlad, the Russian, a hockey player who married his childhood best friend so she could come to the US for university and her journalism degree. They've never had a real marriage but he's always loved her and hoped that they could make it work once she finished school and moved back to live with him. Unfortunately, she's decided to go back to Russia and wants a divorce. Right before she leaves, Vlad gets hurt during a game and she agrees to stay and take care of him before she leaves. His bookclub bros find out he has been writing his own romance novel so they all read it and decide to A. Help him finish it and B. Help him show Elena how much he loves her in hopes that she stays. The only problem is that Elena is wrapped up in investigating a dangerous story, the same one that made her father disappear years ago, and Vlad has no idea. Vlad and Elena's relationship is tense and wonderful and his friendships with the guys really made me laugh in this one.

Yep, now that I've reread all five books in the series, this is still my favorite. As usual, the meta-ness of a romance book within a romance book was fun, even more so since Vlad was writing it. I'm so glad The Russian got his own story! Marriage of convenience is more popular in historical and I don't read those generally, so I always enjoy a modern take. This one includes dual POV with tons of mutual pining, and a bit of adventure thrown in. Also, the book club guys' friendship is really present in this one, which I loved.
