Enchantment of Darkness

I think people give indie books a lot of leeway when it comes to bad writing, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.
Fantasy books don’t have to follow read world logic, but when the main character who’s meant to be poor and unliked has 10 different dresses, lives in a clearly medieval inspired world yet has to pack her toothbrush, and makes a fresh salad of tomatos and lettuce for lunch from their garden in middle of summer. It really starts to show how little the author understands the fantasy world she is writing in.
