The Stepford Wives
by Ira Levin
I picked up this book because 1. I had already seen one of the film adaptations of this story and 2. I was a little let down by the ending of ‘Don’t Worry Darling” (which has a lot of similarities to its story as this one). While the world building and characters were extremely well done, I was also let down by how abruptly this book ends. It’s obviously clear what the motivations of The Men’s Association are, but I personally just wanted more of a fight at the end instead of what we get. Still a terrifying story that I feel has stood the test of time.
