Amari and the Great Game
by B.B. Alston
This series has my entire heart and I'll be recommending it for kids and adults alike until the end of time. While this book takes a darker turn, it's compelling and apt for the times we live in. Elements of propaganda are presented and we begin to see the darker side to the supernatural world. Imani Parks' narration is stellar, bringing such feeling into Amari's quest to win the Great Game and save the world. As the book was winding down, I was left saying "There's no way this can be the end." and it both was and wasn't. I am SO excited to read the next book when it comes out because THAT ENDING. Just devastating.
