I received an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

Well, this was a ride I wasn't expecting.

It started as a cute romance book of two long-separated friends who had a bad last moment together, a pretty casual read, but in the end, it was a page-turner.
The reason it wasn't a 5-star read was that the story felt a bit rushed, especially at the end.

The main characters had great chemistry with each other and I loved their connection but I would like a bit more of their backstory, we did hear about their time as kids and their present time but nothing more about them that would give them more of a dimension.
There were some cliche parts but I didn't mind them at all. They were put together pretty well.

The epilogue was beautifully written, with such a heartwarming ending. I loved it!

And for the side characters... Do I see a hint for a second book :)?
