Verity by Colleen Hoover
2.0
challenging dark emotional tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Here is the unpopular opinion you waited for:  Verity was a decent thriller but nothing really special. The plot and the twist at the end were intense, yes. But I expected more.. My theory: CoHo mostly writes romance so for romance readers this thriller is heavy, I agree. For thriller fans this book might not be that extreme, I guess. Also the character palette wasn't really interesting. They all seemed sus at one point (only Crew was fine, I liked him).
I also don't get why CoHo added the letter, just to confuse us? Unneccesary. Same thing with Lowen and her sleepwalking: I waited for something to happen which would add to the plot but nothing.
