Ok I'm ngl, I struggled with this one. I'm glad I chose to audiobook this one as I think it would have been a DNF if I'd actually read it. I love a dystopian novel and wanted so much to like this with it being such a classic of the genre, I did enjoy the concept of Big Brother and the 'Thought Police', the suppression of individuality and Winston's quiet rebellion against it was good, but I found the whole story between Winston and Julia quite 'clunky' if that's even the right word? It felt rushed and underwhelming. I feel like this relationship distracted from the overall idea of the book and spoilt it a little for me.
