These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan
2.5
slow-paced

this book -even more than the first already- is way too similar to Maas’ ACOTAR series and for me not in a good way. it feels like a not too well written fanfic of that series to me, sadly.
brie is extremely annoying in this book, the constant back and forth doesn’t add anything to the overall plot and the entire book is utterly predictable.

this duology could have been better if it would just have been a standalone story instead of being written out to fill two books.

if the entire plot would have been shorted and all the dragged out sections of Brie being unable to decide or just generally behave stupid in her current situations, this maybe could have been a nice to read story.

as it is?
if you love the ACOTAR idea - the constant calling men make, the tattoos, the good but bad guy, the bad but good guy tho no, the girl having to learn to deal with her new powers, status and general changed body?  but you don’t want to reread Maas’!?

go for it.

for everyone that wants something a bit different and maybe good characters and a story that doesn’t already exist almost too similar?
try something different!
