Ex-Girlfriend
by Rosie Walker
Sadie and Ted are vacationing in the highlands for Christmas hoping to save their marriage. But when Ted’s ex, Alice, shows up at their secluded cabin with a daughter in tow things get
dicey. Alice’s arrival slowly sends Sadie into a downward mental spiral that seems to have some lifetime consequences. How did Alice know they would be there? Did someone invite her? There is only one way to find out, invite her in.
Overall rating 3 / 5
This book was a quick thrill read that had me hooked from beginning to end. I was intrigued to find out who the ex was and how her character would evolve throughout the story. I always love a book with an unreliable narrator. However, I could have done without some of the side stories, Alice’s husband, that seemed to add nothing notable to the story.
A chapter or two from Natasha’s POV would have been fascinating or more from Sadie’s therapy sessions.
The narration by Ariel Lawhon was so well done. All the voices she was able to do for each character is commendable!
*Thank you to Rosie Walker, Netgalley and Bookoutore audio for the audio copy. I am freely leaving my honest review.
