The Queen of the Tearling
by Erika Johansen
The Queen of the tearing I really loved this book. It was a great start to high fantsey series. The only reason I gave it four stars was the world building. It was a little week and not as developed at points but overall I really loved it. I was really confused when the world was actually occurred but by the end i figured it out. It has a cool concept and I really loved how each chapter has a quote from history books. I also love the focus on books and reading. I am a life long reader and that just makes me smile.
I really did like how the book switched perspectives as well. I almost wish it was done more often in he book. I know the story is kelsea but I would liked to see POV from more characters. I like how magic was introduced and I hope we see more of it. I really love kelsea as a character and I am excited to learn more about her path in future books.
This book is both a great mix of magic and distopian novels. I rec you check it out. I am exited for the next book to see where it goes.
