This was so slow and long. I tried to be invested but after the first quarter of nothing happening I skipped ahead to 3/4 and realised the main point still hadn't happened yet. I don't read a lot of W/W adult fiction but this wasn't a great introduction. Gemma's internalised homophobia is jarring and cringy and it didn't make me want to keep reading about her coming out realisations. The side plot about her job wasn't interesting and each time I skipped ahead it was more about Gemma's attractions and emotional turmoil so I have no idea what actually the job issue was but I wasn't that committed to finding out. Essentially a DNF.
