This was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and it didn’t disappoint! Jeannette is so honest in a refreshing way. Writing her story in this memoir must have been difficult, yet therapeutic, and you can tell. It’s well worded, well organized, and well depicted. She doesn’t shy away from the gross and abusive situations in her childhood and life, which ends up shining an enlightening realization on the hard truth she eventually finds. I was so happy to read her journey and relate it to my own life. I’ll definitely be thinking of this book for a while.
