This was so boring for such a short book. Took me about 60% to actually get into it.
But those last 40% were a satisfying conclusion.
I will say the humor was very sly and quirky and I did enjoy it as well as the dark surrounding of the house.
I have not read The fall of the house of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe so I cannot speak to how it measures up.
