one thing about hannah whitten is she's going to sit down and right her heart out!! i find her prose so impactful and compelling that even when the plot was slow moving i just couldn't put it down!! i also have such a soft spot for her characters, whom i find are always so three dimensional. i have wanted to read this since it debuted, but just hadn't gotten around to it. after reading the foxglove king i just knew i had to go back to where it all started and i have no regrets. the spooky atmosphere of the wilderwood makes this the perfect read for fall or winter. will definitely be picking up the sequel <3
