Game Player
by B.J. Harvey
"No game is worth playing unless you're playing to win"
OK, so I am not going to lie, I have been #TeamWalkingDildo from the get go.
But now I think that maybe Noah has some stiff (pun intended!) competition from #TeamMiniWalkingDildo, his younger brother Matt.
When the "the brother-in-law's brother" Matt hooks up with "the sister-in-law's sister" Mia, I just knew that things were going to get sexy hot super fast.
I mean wow, the sexual chemistry between Matt and Mia is through the roof! You could feel their attraction to each other leap off the pages. And when they are in the same room together - the sparks just flew!
But you could just feel that things were never going to be easy between them - especially with Mia constantly complicating things, and Matt's reputation.
I could understand Mia's hesitation, truly I could. But I just wanted to clip her around the ears, tell her to wake up to herself and to stop being so stubborn.
"I can't stop thinking about you, Legs, and I don't fucking want to."
I felt for Matt as no one would take him seriously, wouldn't even try to see that he is a changed man. I could feel his frustration and his hurt that his family and friends though of him that way.
As we learn more about Matt and Mia's history, the more I just loved Matt.
What I loved the most about Game Player (well, besides M & M) was that we got more of the characters from the Bliss series, and OMG the banter between the family and friends was laugh out loud funny, particularly between Noah and Matt.
"Married life has ruined you," I grumble.
"Au contraire, little dicked one, married life means I never wake up alone and there never have to take my one-eyes trouser snake in hand unless me wife is begging to watch me do it."
I laughed, I got sad, I got angry, I got happy while reading Game Player. I feel that these people are part of my family I have been reading about them so long now. I devoured every word in one sitting, and can't wait to see where Ms Harvey takes us next.
Oh, and I still can't decide between Noah and Matt, so I will just have to be
