Space horror is one of my favorite subgenres. The concept of visiting another planet and meeting an alien species is creepy as hell to me. I went into this novella semi-blind and I'm glad that I did. I was also excited to hear that this is the first in a series of planned stories set in the same world. I'm eager to read those as well.
