Dear Jane

I love second chance romances! Dear Jane is a second chance sports romance — a standalone book — with a good mix of sweet and sexy, wit and emotion, and heartache and redemption. It’s a quick read that’s perfect for Fall, given the football element.
Kendall Ryan is one of those authors that has been on my TBR for a while. I’ve seen rave reviews and have been intrigued by the synopses of her books, yet Dear Jane is the first of her works that I’ve read.
There is an ease to Kendall’s writing — it’s evocative and the story unfolds at a good pace. Dear Jane is told in the dual POVs of Jane and Weston.
The leads have a history; they were each other’s first everything! When Weston continued to put Jane second to football, she ended things. Years go by and their paths meet again as Weston is contracted as the quarterback to the Chicago Hawks, the team that Jane works for.
Jane is a hard worker who lives and breaths sports. She is strong willed and independent, which I love. Weston is a star athlete; sexy and a bit cocky. Between their still unmended hearts and misunderstanding, there is angst and drama when they reconnect (although, I kind of wish the drama was explored a little more). But then, of course, the chemistry flares, and it’s hot!
I thought Jane was a fantastic character! Weston, on the other hand, made me want to shake him a few times! However, he redeemed himself with his “Dear Jane” letter. Talk about swoon-worthy!!!
Overall, I liked Dear Jane. Although this was my first Kendall Ryan book, it won’t be my last. Fans of second chance romances with some steam would enjoy this one.
