Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman
4.0

Wow, where to start with this book? Well, overall, it's Neil Gaiman doing what he does best, creating an engaging story full of creativity and imagination. I've been a Gaiman fan since high school and I was really excited when I picked this book up. I'm sort of a mythology nerd as well, so I figured this would be such a great read. And, as usual with Gaiman's work, I wasn't disappointed. Everything in the story seemed to fit perfectly and flowed naturally.

The only complaint I have isn't actually that bad. I just wanted this book to be a little longer. I mean, there wasn't much build-up before they get to Asgard. I was actually surprised that that they were able to get there so quickly. One would think there would be more conflict on the road to the home of the Gods. But, I reminded myself that this is a 117 page book and aimed at middle schoolers. It's not supposed to be like Anansi Boys or Stardust. Odd and the Frost Giants is a pleasurable read and a delightful fairy tale.
