Lovesick

you know. if i hadn't read madeline's backstory first in doll parts i wouldn't even be as far into this comic as i currently am. i understood that doll parts is a commentary on what happens to young children who have access to the worst parts of the internet; a poor, naive, girl who was never wanted. she found her solstice and community on the internet. stumbling upon things no one, especially anyone her age, should've came across. exposing herself to the darkest parts of humanity to feel... anything. i related to that.
i thought the story was showing how she grew up to be a serial killer because of how scrambled and fucked up her brain was from childhood; which she is.. technically, and this does explore that, kind of. the rest of this is some weird, rape, fetishy, jumbled nonsense with a story i could barely follow. the art is gorgeous, the coloring and shading is to die for, a lot of the art, and some very minor parts of this story reminded me of my original character; between that and morbid curiosity i somehow prevailed. kind of wish i didn't. i hope the author receives therapy.
