Sadie
by Courtney Summers
As someone who has always stuttered, I feel the need to say the stuttering rep was absolutely perfect! The author captured what it's like in the head of a stutterer, from the reactions of other people to the inner frustration and exhaustion you feel on particularly bad days. The narrator voicing Sadie was able to vary the actual stuttering so realistically. I've never seen someone mimic what it sounds like when you block a stutter. It's even difficult as a stutterer to purposely make that sound so others know what it is. I know that's not the point of the book, but I felt like I couldn't rate the book and not point that out.
