My Thoughts
Loved Brooke and Annette’s very healthy friendship, their commentary throughout the story is very insightful and witty
Brooke and J.J. want to pretend nothing serious is between them, the author mentions it just enough not repetitive to the point of taking you out of the book. The guys starting a book club is hilarious. J.J. is patient with her and her fears to commit. She has her own traumas that people will leave her.
I was pleasantly surprised by the main couple discussing inclusion and diversity in this small town.

Triggers
Alcohol
Sandwich generation
Generational trauma
Parental Dementia And Death
Mental Health
Homophobia
Mental health stigma
Pregnancy

Spice
They started their spice as just a fling, along the way they fell in love. Initially, there was just sex to scratch an itch, but slowly transitioned into something more. She was reluctant to make it serious.
I thought it had just the right level of spice and natural progression of the story.
