To Sir, Without Love: I'm Divorcing You, vol. 1 by Iroto Tsumugi, Kori Hisakawa
4.0

Byletta is married off at age 16 to a 25 military man to bring honour to her family. As she turns up to the guys family house it turns out he's been sent off to the front of an ongoing war and will be back when its over.

8 years later the war is finally coming to an end and Byletta sends a letter to her husband requesting a divorce. He reads this and is like 'oh hmm ok what an interesting lady' and returns home to finally meet his wife who he has never met (I'm confused on how they got married but unless I missed it we just gloss over that)
Over the 8 years Byletta has opened a boutique selling fancy dresses and is quite happy going along doing her own thing and can't wait to send divorce papers to her husband. Though her pretty looks and pleasant demeanour rumours began developing that she was a sweet talker to men and brought many back to bed with her to get things she wants. Unfortunately these rumours have reached her husband and he believes she is a different type of lady to what she actually is.

On his return he makes a deal with Byletta that he will grant her divorce if
he can't get her pregnant within a month
🤦

They then get down for a belated wedding night and he realises based on her responses that the rumours might just be that and she is not like that at all. And he starts to feel guilty. AS HE SHOULD.

The rest of the volume is the 2 of them spending more time together and him being more nice and gentle. As Byletta keeps commenting on.

All that aside I did enjoy the read 🤣 Depending on what you're comfortable with will likely decide whether you would enjoy reading it yourself. Byletta is frequently described as a 'strong' women and for the most part she is. And that can be a refreshing read.
